I moved nearby the American River in 2013. Since that time, I have taken more pictures of the river and its wildlife than anything else. My scenic images are mostly compromised of two areas on the river, Effie Yeaw Nature Center, about four miles from my home, and the immediate are within a half mile of my home. I call this area, “My Stretch of the River.” It is only about 1.5 miles in length, but has many side channels and islands that make it interesting. I am sure over the years I have paddled more than 1,000 miles in this area. Enjoy my “backyard.”
