As you know, I have been kayaking and photographing on a stretch of the American River in Sacramento, CA for over eight years. Now I want to share it with you.
Join Lewis Kemper in his tandem kayak as he takes you on a tour of his favorite stretch of the river. Lewis has been kayaking and photographing on this section of the river for over 8 years and know where to find the wildlife.
This 1 ½- 2 ½ hour tour will get you up close and personal with the wildlife of the American River. I frequently photographs beaver, otters, deer, coyote, egrets, herons, geese, ducks and more. No kayak experience needed. I do all the work! All you need to do is sit back and take pictures. I will do all the paddling. You don’t even have to get your feet wet. I will launch you and retrieve you back to shore without you needed to get wet. Life jacket and paddle (if you do want to try paddling) and dry bag will be provided. All you need to do is dress appropriately for the weather. I recommend a telephoto lens in the 100-400 or up to 600mm range. Optional would be a second camera with a wide angle zoom for scenery images.
The kayak tour only costs $225: includes kayak, life jacket, dry bag, and my expert guidance on the river and with your photography.
If you are interested in also having me do a Zoom session with you following the tour (either the same day or at a future date) we will be able to review your images with tips on how to improve composition, exposure, etc and even go into processing techniques that I use to optimize my images. The package with the River Kayak Tour and the two hour Zoom screen share editing and review session with Lewis, costs $425.
