This year would have marked my 10th year in a row going to Lake Clark National Park to photograph bears. And my 9th time leading a tour there. But the coronavirus, and fear of COVID-19, put an end to my streak. As you can imagine, photographers like me, who make most of income leading tours, conducting workshops, and giving lectures, have been greatly impacted by the virus. I am anxiously awaiting an effective vaccine and a return to a more "normal" life.
Over the years I have taken over 50,000 images there and have kept almost 35,000. Here are about 200 of my favorites. I want to thank all the photographers that have traveled there with me in the past. And a special thanks to all the folks that were signed up for this year, but for safety sake, decided to defer to next year. May we see many magical sights next year!
Enjoy the show!
